KEAMS(Korea Electro-Acoustic Music Society) was founded in Sep. 1, 1993. The purposes of KEAMS are to introduce not only electro-acoustic music itself, but also music with new media and multimedia and to make exchange with performer groups and electro-acoustic music centers, well-known world-widely. Members are professional composers, performers, engineers, graphic artists, etc., who are strongly interested in this area. Since 1994, KEAMS has hosted SICMF(Seoul International Computer Music Festival), which was initiated as CMFS(Computer Music Festival in Seoul) until year 2000. To provide chances with new technology, Electro-acoustic music camps and seminars are held for both professional and general groups, and Emille, the journal is published annually. Besides, since 2011, conference, called KEAMSAC(Korean Electro-Acoustic Music Society’s Annual Conference) has been an important event during the period of SICMF.
한국전자음악협회는 1993년 9월 1일 뉴미디어를 사용한 음악 및 멀티미디어 장르의 보급과 활성화, 국제교류에 뜻 을 두고 창립되었다. 대학강사, 교수로 재직 중인 음악인 들과 엔지니어, 그래픽아티스트 등의 이 분야에 관심을 가 진 전문가들로 회원 구성되었으며, 1994년부터 매년 서 울국제컴퓨터음악제를 개최하여 국내외 다양한 작품들을 연주할 기회와 해외 연주단체를 초청하여 활발한 국제교 류를 마련하고 있으며 한국컴퓨터음악대회를 개최하여 신 진음악인의 발굴, 양성하고 있다. 또한 전자음악 캠프와 연 3회 이상의 세미나를 통하여 새로운 테크놀로지를 빠 르게 접할 수 있는 계기를 마련하고, 전문 학술지인 에밀 레를 발간하고 있으며, 2011년부터는 서울국제컴퓨터음 악제 기간동안 국제학술대회도 함께 유치하고 있다.
