We are beginning to understand the structure and functioning of interactive models for musical instruments; how interactive musical instruments can change our approach to sound design, musical composition and performance; and how such interactive models can lead us towards the empowerment of individual creativity, the inclusion of learning and discovery in the creative process, and a greater sense of world community.
My lectures are intended to describe the different possible approaches to interactivity in musical instruments, to demonstrate how such instruments work in performance, and to present the historical and cultural context for these innovations.
